The Lower Shore Progressive Caucus opposes building a new Redskins’ stadium at Oxon Cove Park
Salisbury, January 8, 2019 -- The Lower Shore Progressive Caucus stands united in opposition to the proposed idea to build the Washington Redskins a new football stadium at Oxon Cove Park in Prince George’s County.
Currently, with some many other important issues facing the state like climate change, the declining health of the Chesapeake Bay, skyrocketing healthcare costs, unfunded schools, and more, the Governor’s ambitious plan to build Billionaire Dan Snyder a new stadium is misguided and the opposite of what the state should be focusing on moving forward.
If the Governor is wanting to undertake projects to start economic growth in the state, we encourage him to invest in the hardworking people of the Lower Eastern Shore by investing in new infrastructure, improving rural healthcare, adding more education programs, and looking to attract good-paying jobs to a region that desperately needs it.
